Hi to All Greater East San Carlos Residents,

Please join in for the Coastal and Creek Cleanup on Saturday Sept 25 from 9am to 12pm.

We will meet on the lawn at Redwood High School on Old County Rd with food, snacks, and yes, gloves, bags for pickup of debris in our creeks: such as Pulgas, Cordilleras and Brittan. The idea is to get all the trash out of the creeks before the rains come. Getting the debris out means it will not go out to the bay via the Bair Island estuary.

We have been cautioned by Sam Herzberg not to go into the sediment of Pulgas Creek as toxics have been found there. Most people reach from the banks for the plastic, paper or other stuff blown into the creeks during the year.

It is a satisfying thing to do this caring effort for our local creeks and it helps keep them as natural as possible with habitat for wildlife such as birds and butterflies.

Check out the website for the the county www.flowstobay.org for more interesting ideas for keeping our creeks clean.

Hope to see many of you at the event on Sat morning Sept 25 at Redwood High campus.
